The winner of the 2011 Arts Category, Gold Awards

‘Creative Gold’ in association with ‘The Wellington Company’ – film, media & creative content industries The Gold Awards have been proudly celebrating outstanding business performers in Wellington, Hutt, Upper Hutt, Porirua and Kapiti since 1999.

Designworks - (one of NZ’s leading Design Practices) received the Creative Gold Award at the annual event held at the TSB Arena on Wednesday 18th May 2011.

Ian Cassels presented Sven Baker from Designworks this outstanding award. This win is particularly flattering considering the calibre of outstanding Creative Gold finalists for 2011.

The 2011 finalists in the Creative category were Deborah Sweeney, Downstage Theatre, KHF Media and The New Zealand Film Archive. 40 judges from the business and arts community cast their votes to narrow the field down to the five eventual finalists.

Gold Awards Director, John Dow, said that the judges comments described Designworks as an astute business that had successfully brought strategic thinking and quality creativity together in a way that significantly supported a wide range of clients, including some of New Zealand’s largest and most influential organisations.

The judges were also impressed with the contribution Designworks makes to support Wellington’s claims to be the Creative Capital - particularly through providing services to important cultural and artistic projects and entities.
